About Us

SCCUL Enterprises CLG who manage The SCCUL Enterprise Centre, Ballybane is a registered charity set up by but independent to St. Columba’s Credit Union, Galway in 2000. As a not for profit, social enterprise, SCCUL aims to champion societal change by promoting community, enterprise, wellbeing and social inclusion. Since its establishment, SCCUL has initiated and developed many projects in pursuit of its mission.

 

Currently this is achieved through a number of successful initiatives operating from the West of Ireland;

Michael Smyth

Chief Executive

Michael provides leadership to SCCUL Enterprises CLG and its diverse range of initiatives. Responsible for realising strategic plans, general and financial management, oversight and governance as set out by our Board of Directors. Michael has worked with SCCUL Enterprises CLG since 2014 and his passion lies in supporting our communities to prosper, finding innovative supports, structures and services to assist in this pursuit.

Annette Hassett

Operations Manager

Annette provides support and guidance to all of the SCCUL Initiatives and is responsible for the Project Management of a 3 year European Funded – Northern Periphery & Artic Programme (NPAP) for Bizmentors with partners in Finland, Iceland, Fermanagh & Omagh District Council and the WDC.  Annette has worked with SCCUL Enterprises CLG since 2015 and is currently studying for a MSc in Digital Media and Marketing.

TJ Forde

Centre Manager

TJ is a MSc in Business graduate with a proven track record in project and facility management. Having started with SCCUL in 2016 TJ has been involved in several aspects of the organisation which included projects for both social and entrepreneurial initiatives. Within his role as Enterprise Centre and BCNC manager TJ has managed teams which strive to support and foster growth in the local enterprise eco system and the local community alike.
